"In bidding for NCAA and MAAC championships the Connecticut CSB delivers all the elements required for a successful hosting experience," notes MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. "These elements include easy access to major transportation networks which the bureau can provide with multiple airports, interstate highways and rail and ferry options. Also required are full service hotel options with varying price point for teams and fans, again the CSB delivers. Finally, host venues must be available for competitions, and in the case of the Connecticut CSB the Webster Bank Arena, Fairfield University and other facilities provide suitable options for basketball, ice hockey, soccer and other collegiate and youth sports."

"Hartford is the ideal location because we have a lot of members in New England who appreciate the proximity of the city. Our vendors like it because it's easily accessible from two major highways and
allows them to quickly move equipment in and out."

"We wanted to host both the Big East Conference Tournament and the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship Eastern Regional at a neutral venue capable of drawing a large number of fans. We chose the Hartford Civic Center because this region loves women's basketball and Hartford and the Civic Center continuously show their support for the game."

Barbara Jacobs
Big East Conference Assistant Commissioner

"The Snow & Ice Management Association is excited to be bringing our annual Snow & Ice Symposium to Hartford, CT…”, “…The new convention center, surrounding area development and easy access is sure to be a huge draw for attendees. “

"As an event producer from Connecticut who has managed events throughout the Northeast and South to Florida, I am glad to say we no longer have to travel beyond Hartford to have a first class facility right at our finger tips! As the new Connecticut Convention Center opened in June, we now have a  phenomenal facility that meets all of my clients' needs when producing an event. The building has expo space with the capacity for 800+ booths, a 40,000 square foot ballroom delivering top notch inventive catering and 14 breakout spaces that I have utilized for private parties, seminars and meetings. The piece that brings the building together is the 'Can Do' attitude of the highly motivated and talented staff."
