HARTFORD, CONN., July 1, 2016 – Connecticut convention and tourism leaders recently welcomed the first-ever “CONNECT NEW ENGLAND” to Hartford. The prestigious appointment-only trade show at the Connecticut Convention Center brought together the most active planners, suppliers and experts in association, sports and specialty meetings who focus on New England destinations for meetings and events. Meeting planners from across the U.S. gathered for their own business meetings and enjoyed special off-site social events in the Downtown area. Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin, Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau President Scott Phelps, and Connecticut Office of Tourism Director Randy Fiveash presented greetings to attendees at the opening breakfast.

The inaugural multi-day event was hosted by Connect in partnership with the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau, the Connecticut Convention Center, and the Marriott Hartford Downtown/Waterford Hotel Group.
