“We are thrilled about this holiday weekend, as Connecticut hosts multiple major sports events for the first time in over a year,” explains Robert Murdock, President of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTCSB). “These tournaments will bring athletes, officials, families and fans, and are projected to generate a combined total of $7 Million in revenue for local hotels, restaurants and attractions, with the NCAA DI, DII, DIII Men’s Lacrosse National Championships in East Hartford alone projected to bring in $4.36 Million. In total, these six events will support more than 2,400-tourism-related jobs in Connecticut, and will produce over $261,000 in Connecticut sales tax,” says Murdock. “Our Bureau has been working with these promoters to help bring them to our state, and we look forward to a big summer season with many more.”
