Dozens of members of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTCSB) recently boarded a coach bus and traveled around Downtown Hartford, visiting some of the city's great restaurants.

“The purpose of this event was to provide an opportunity for members of the convention and hospitality industry to become better acquainted with some of Downtown's restaurants,” explains H. Scott Phelps, President of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau. “This enables them to speak knowledgeably as they market the region or respond to inquiries from visiting meeting attendees and leisure travelers.

The tour began and ended in the Front Street Entertainment District, starting at NIXS Hartford and The Capital Grille, and finishing at Ted’s Montana Grill. In between, the bus drove to City Steam Brewery Café, Peppercorn's Grill and Black Bear Saloon Hartford, where servers hopped aboard, offering samples of their popular dishes. Eversource Energy again was the event’s corporate sponsor and Peter Pan donated the bus.

The Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau works in partnership with the state’s businesses, institutions, nonprofit organizations, and surrounding communities to market all of Connecticut as a premier destination for international, national, regional and meetings and conventions. The Connecticut Sports Convention Advisory Board, a division of the CTCSB, focuses its efforts on attracting and serving international, national and regional sporting events.
