In a year like no other that has forced the postponement or cancellation of most conferences and sports events, the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau continues to execute a robust agenda of actions to keep Connecticut front and center in the minds of meeting planners and sports promoters. Most recently:

Outreach to Planners via Industry Partners & Organizations:

  • Attendance (virtual) at Professional Convention Management Association’s (PCMA) Convening Leaders 2021, a global/regional industry education event with over 3,000 attendees and face-to-face watch parties. Forecast for coming year: More hybrid than virtual events; increase in experiential venues; changes in sales strategy; compassion-over-competition; digital tours and 360-degree video technology; and expect constant change.

  • Attendance (virtual) at Event Service Professionals Association’s (ESPA) 2021 Annual Meeting, comprised of event service professionals from CVBs, hotels and convention centers across North America.

  • This month (March), our CTCSB staff will join the New England Society of CVBs to host a Virtual Cooking class for Meeting Planners. Our recipe is New England Clam Chowder, of course. Ingredients will be sent to the planners’ homes and we will cook it together!

e-Marketing & Online Visibility:

ConferenceDirect and HelmsBriscoe partnership renewal with our 3rd Party Partners, with more value-added benefits including e-news, promotions, webinar opportunities.

4th Quarter Digital Ad Campaign in partnership with Meeting Planners International (MPI), PCMA, Cvent & three Society of Association Executives chapters. This successful end-of-year project generated 1,200 new users on our REIMAGINED  www.CTMeetings.org
