CALL TO ACTION
Dear CTMEETINGS Partners,
Unfortunately, we have some troubling news to share.
The Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTMEETINGS) – Connecticut’s ONLY statewide meetings, conventions and sports event sales and marketing organization – is extremely disappointed that the budget presented by Governor Lamont indicates that funding for tourism marketing will remain flat for the next two years. Without legislative action with additional statewide marketing funding of at least $500K per year, CTMEETINGS will be forced to cease operations.
In June 2012, CTMEETINGS was established by the Connecticut State Government to generate business for the state’s convention and hospitality industry. Funding comes from the CT Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD)/ Connecticut Office of Tourism, with additional revenue from membership dues and trade show co-ops.
- Fiscal Year 2025 Public funding through the DECD / Office of Tourism: $550,000
- Fiscal Year 2025 Private sector support: $180,000
We are requesting your assistance to help with a legislative outreach. Below are three documents to help you in sending a request for additional Tourism funding.

Sincerely,
Bob
